En 2016, la galerie Lumière des roses entame une collaboration avec des artistes contemporains, les invitant à travailler à partir de son fonds constitué de milliers d'images anonymes.
C’est ainsi que naît le projet Vues de l’esprit réalisé par le peintre Xavier Combes et le photographe Camille P.
Le principe en est simple : juxtaposer deux photographies, sans trahir les clichés originaux ni intervenir sur l’image, sinon en leur imposant un agrandissement.

Assemblées, les images tissent entre elles une constellation de liens secrets qui offre un nouvel horizon à l’espace imaginaire. A ce jeu d’associations fécondes, pas de clé d’interprétation, ni de sens imposé ; à chacun de se l’approprier, au regardeur de jouer !

Frames of Mind

In 2016, the Lumière des Roses gallery initiates a collaboration with contemporary artists. Those are invited to work from a collection of thousands of unattributed images dating from photography's beginnings up to the present.
The resultant project, Frames of Mind, is based on the simple principle of juxtaposition of two photographs; apart from adaptation via enlargement, they are presented free of any alteration of their original content and spirit.
The constellation of secret interconnections this gives rise to opens up new imaginative horizons: a fertile interplay of associations with no key to interpretation, no imposed meaning. Each viewer is free to appropriate these works in his or her own way.
